hi friends.
the booth is currently in its shiny, new developing stage! A group of students have come together with the great help of Lisa Neighbour (Sheridan upper year print instructor) to make this site happen. so kudos Lisa!
We are currently working on gathering images to add to the archives page. Artwork from 2008/09 classes is being added as well as art from special events and shows such as the '09 grad show, the open house, middlechild 3rd year exhibition, etc. If you have images you would like to add please let us know!
We are also looking into being able to upload videos to the site. More info on this soon.
the booth will be hosting an ongoing collection of online art projects for students to create and/or collaborate on. Proposals for participation will be posted and we are also accepting proposals for online student project ideas as well. If you have your own online projects/art blogs going on, send us a link!
This site will also be a great student source for important art links and information. Hit up the
links page to find sites about local events/openings, international art scene updates, job and internship opportunities, and exhibition opportunities! Also find program info and links to the U of T galleries: the Blackwood, Justina Barnicke, and UTAC.
This site will also be closely connected to the
Sheridan Art and Art History Blog run by David Poolman, to the fine.art.student.association (fasa), and to our satellite student spaces at Sheridan and UTM.
Sheridan's student space is 'the booth', located in the Annie Smith building.
UTM's space is the 'student inset space', located in the North Building.
We're hoping to form a solid collective of spaces and organizations this year for the benefit of all students! If you have any ideas or suggestions for the site or for something you would love to see happen this year please feel free to let us know! We are here to make things happen. And if you would like to get involved (on a large, medium, or even small scale) talk to us as well!
